WHAT IS PHYSIOTHERAPY?
Physiotherapy is a health care profession that provides treatment to individuals to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and function throughout life. This includes providing treatment in circumstances where movement and function are threatened by aging, injury, disease or environmental factors. Physiotherapy is concerned with identifying and maximizing quality of life and movement potential within the spheres of promotion, intervention, habilitation and rehabilitation. The Diploma in Physiotherapy course has been specially designed to provide work force in the health sector based on the demand of highly skilled physiotherapists and the predicted increase in the deficit of workforce due to technology development, globalization and increase in health awareness.
PHYSIOTHERAPY 3 CORE SKILLS :-
- Manual therapy (massage, mobilization, manipulation)
- Electrotherapy (ultrasound)
- Exercise and movement
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Local Student
Pass SPM or equivalent with FIVE (5) credits including the following subjects:
- Bahasa Malaysia
- English
- Mathemathics
- 1 Science subject (Biology/Physics/Chemistry/General Sciences/Applied Science); and
- Any other subjects;
International Student
GCE/O-Level or equivalent with FIVE credits (Grade C) in the following subjects:
- English
- Mathematics
- 1 Science subject (Biology/Physics/Chemistry/General Sciences/Applied Science); and
- Any other 2 subjects
Proficiency in English (Required for those whose medium of instruction is no in English language.)
- Pass International English Language Testing Services (IELTS) with a minimum of 5.5 or
- Test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL) with a minimum of 550
